Why we started Private Korea
Most tours of Korea try to show you everything in three days. You end up rushed through palaces, herded through markets, and back on the bus before you've had a real meal. We thought travelers deserved better.
Private Korea was started by Koreans who love their country and wanted to share the version they actually live in — the family-run noodle shop the locals queue for, the temple stay where you wake up to monks chanting, the quiet alley behind the main street where the real food is.
What we do
We curate private guided toursacross South Korea — Seoul, Busan, Jeju Island, Gyeongju, and beyond. Every tour is custom-built around what you want to see, eat, and experience. No fixed itineraries. No groups of forty strangers. Just you, your guide, and the country.
- Custom day tours in every major Korean city
- Cultural experiences — hanbok dress-up, temple stays, cooking classes, tea ceremonies
- Multi-day trip planning with vetted local guides
Who guides our tours
Every guide on Private Korea is a licensed Korean professional we've personally interviewed and traveled with. They speak fluent English, know the history, and — just as importantly — know which restaurant your guidebook got wrong.
How we're different
- Small by design. Most of our tours are 1–6 people. You set the pace.
- Local first. Every recommendation comes from someone who lives here, not a franchised tour script.
- No pressure, no upsells. We don't take commissions from shops. You go where you actually want to go.
- Flexible cancellation. Plans change. Our cancellation policy is built around real travel, not legal cover.
