Jeju Island

Volcanic landscapes, tangerine groves, and island magic

Jeju is Korea's tropical escape, a volcanic island 90 km off the southern coast with UNESCO-listed lava tubes, dramatic waterfalls, and a culture distinct from the mainland. Hallasan, Korea's tallest mountain, anchors the island at its center.

Beyond nature, Jeju is famous for its haenyeo, female free-divers who harvest seafood without oxygen tanks, a tradition recognized by UNESCO. The island's tangerines, black pork barbecue, and fresh abalone are legendary.

Jeju is visa-free for many nationalities, making it an easy entry point. Rent a car to explore properly because the island rewards slow, scenic drives along its coastal roads.
